Gender, & Demographics

Gender equality is one of the important measures of demographic challenges. It is generally seen that more equal participation in education, the labor market, and household works have immense impact on the fertility rates and the long-term labour supply of the economy. The Global Value Chain Report, 2017 has shown that in developing countries, most of the least-productive, manual, and hazardous jobs in the product chains are done by women. This inequality in developing countries may actas a hindrance to the development of the countries. Therefore, the issue of gender and demographics need to be taken seriously and we encourage here to conduct studies on the related topics.

To mention here, although we encourage independent studies and research related to the topics for India, one can pursue comparative studies as needed and also go beyond.
