India is the second fastest-growing digitizing economy among the 17 leading economies of the world. The flagship program launched in 2015, “The Digital India Program” targets to transform the country into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. It is believed that the digital transformation of the country will lead to higher productivity across sectors, prioritizing, the financial sector, healthcare, logistics, etc. It is also believed that the new digital economy will not only raise the output of the economy but also the skills and employment. How the implementation of this very new aspect of the Government policy has influenced our economy, needs to be analyzed further and we encourage to do so by comparing with other developing countries/ similar countries.
